sap successfactors Mobile Org Chart
MY ROLE
UX, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Usability Testing
Project Overview
The redesign of the SuccessFactors Mobile Org Chart was the first of several redesign efforts that would ultimately improve the overall experience of our entire mobile application from both a UX and visual design standpoint. The Org Chart, one of the most heavily used features on both web and mobile, had not seen any attention for several years, and it’s performance, feature set and visual aesthetic was sorely lacking.
Project Details
It was important for the new design to align visually with branding from our new parent company, SAP, while still being cohesive with our existing internal app experience. Over the course of several months, I drove the UX and visual design by:
Reducing and simplifying the number of existing features
Find the best balance between innovating and working within existing engineering constraints
Defining a new interaction paradigm that leveraged current technology
Implementing a new visual design language which would carry over to the rest of the SuccessFactors mobile app
Considering scalability across company size, industry, language, and device resolution
Ensuring feature parity on both iOS and Android platforms
Process
The design underwent heavy scrutiny from product management to directors. From sketches to wireframes to finished mockups, countless screens were designed at varying stages of fidelity to create light prototypes that underwent usability testing, both onsite and online.
